New Mercenary in line, Bodo and the next special event!
Firstly, let us greet every Roman! We know that you have waited long enough for another update and for another event! And so here we are!
We will be introducing the next Mercenary, Bodo and explaining his use in-game as well.
After the introduction of Bodo, we will explain the special event in detail!
The next Mercenary, Bodo
Story
Carthaginians rarely became slaves under Roman rule, but Bodo was one of the few exceptions. He was sold off to Rome as a slave, as his impoverished parents couldn’t find other ways to make ends meet. Bodo worked the fields for his masters, who quickly noticed his immense strength and stamina behind the dark and lanky physique. They brought him to the Ludus, promising him riches and eventually freedom, if he ever made it as a gladiator.
Bodo did not disappoint and shone in his training. By the time he graduated, his reputation as a mighty warrior had already spread to the gates of the arena. Bodo’s skill was so far above his opponents, he defeated even the most famous gladiators without having to maim them. This exhibition of skill and mercy was, however, undesirable for the Roman crowd; they wanted bloodshed and violence. A frustrated Senator eventually arranged for Bodo to fight an ultimate fight — with a bengal tiger. The Senator thought it was impossible for Bodo to prevail, and sacrificing him in this spectacle would allow more competitive gladiator fights in the future. Bodo was told, of course, that he would gain freedom upon defeating this fearsome beast. What ensued was a legendary battle between man and beast, with Bodo eventually emerging victorious with a stab through the tiger’s belly. The arena was silenced by his supreme display of talent, and the Senator had no choice but to let Bodo walk away a free man.
Behind the lethal blade and a mountain of a man, however, was a free spirit. Bodo’s gladiatorial exploits were already past him, but his life had just begun. He would spend his life answering the calls of nobles and governors in the most dangerous tasks, just so that he could go on epic adventures that he had missed so much in his younger days.
Special ability in-game
“Overwhelming Strength” ━ Bodo is extremely powerful and so he can perform the job of two men in any given mission. This means that Bodo counts as two heads and bodies when venturing out.
for ex. Bodo can go on a Medium length Adventure all by himself or can go on Long length Adventures with only one more companion. Bodo also has double the Power Score than a Gladiator of the same rarity. While Bodo is strong, he gives no additional gold bonus reward (%).
Mercenary Pack, Bodo
Bodo is obtainable through the upcoming special event or by opening one of the special Mercenary Bodo Packs. When opening, you will obtain Bodo in one of the following rarities as shown below in the drop rates.

・30% uncommon
・13% rare
・4% epic
・1% legendary
The next Special Event
A new special event rises where you will be able to obtain the next Mercenary in line, Bodo as well as fight for your province!
The event starts on April 2nd at 2:00 PM UTC and will end exactly 7 days after.
Now, the event is split into two parts.
・You have been collecting your rewards from Adventures for a while now and so it is time to spend it in favor of obtaining Bodo’s respect! Spend your gold and show Bodo, that you are a worthy owner of this fearless and monstrous Mercenary!
・The Roman Empire has grown and so have the political battles between provinces. It is about time to choose your province and fight for it with your honor! Which side will you take?
Collect your rewards and spend them
In this part of the event, you will be able to obtain Bodo by simply earning gold and spending it in-game. You will receive a Mercenary Bodo Pack for every 100,000 GOLD spent. There is no limit in the amount of packs you can receive by spending your gold. To keep track of your own progress, you will see a banner in-game showing how much gold you have spent during the event. Only gold spent by the following ways are counted towards the event!
・Training Gladiators (Fee cost)
・Buying Gladiator Packs
・Buying Adventure slots in-game with the GOLD token
・Buying temporary Food slots in-game with the GOLD token
Side with a province and fight for what you believe
The second part of the event involves your decisions made upon the realm. You will now have to choose a side to fight for! By doing so, you will be fighting and earning gold for your chosen province. At the end of the event, the province with the most gold spent will earn bonus rewards. Read more about the rules below.
In order to choose your province, you will have to join our official Discord channel → HERE ← and you will have to go through a verification process.
When you are done, you should see a channel under the name #choose-province where you will be able to choose between the two following provinces; the Imperial province which falls directly under the Emperor and the Senatorial province which is administered at the discretion of the Senate.
After choosing your side, you will have to drop your WAX address in the #wax-address channel so each province can keep track of their warriors and their progress.
At the end of the Imperial vs Senatorial province war, each player of each province will be rewarded as follows:
・The winning province, which has reaped and spent the most gold during the event will reward their warriors by randomly selecting 30 winners and rewarding them with a Mercenary Bodo Pack.
・The losing province on the other hand will, although its failure, reward their warriors for their loyalty by randomly selecting 15 winners and rewarding them with a Mercenary Bodo Pack.
